Gonzalo Higuain is confident that he can contribute to Chelsea FC following his loan move.

The Argentina international completed a loan switch to the west London side on Wednesday evening following weeks of speculation.

Higuain completed a switch to Chelsea FC from AC Milan after the South American forward moved to the San Siro outfit on loan from his parent club Juventus in the summer.

However, the 31-year-old struggled to make a positive impression at AC Milan and the former Real Madrid striker opted to move to Stamford Bridge.

Higuain will be tasked with firing Chelsea FC to a top-four finish in the remaining months of the season given the well-documented struggles of Alvaro Morata and Olivier Giroud this term.

Chelsea FC supporters will be encouraged that Higuain’s best season in Europe came under Sarri at Napoli when he scored 36 goals in 35 games in the 2015-16 Serie A season.

Asked during his first interview with Chelsea FC’s website about what qualities he can bring to the Blues team, Higuain replied: “I always try to score goals, it’s something I love to do. And when they don’t go in, I try to help the team in other areas to make sure we win.

“I’m someone who is always trying to improve, day after day. I think the most important thing is to be humble, even when we make mistakes, and so when that happens I will always try to rectify that improve.

“For the rest, I’ll leave other people to give their opinions on me.

“I’m not someone who likes to talk too much about myself but I’m someone who tries to improve, and get the best out of myself and my team, at every opportunity.”

He continued: “It was an opportunity that when it presented itself I couldn’t miss out on.

“I’m really excited to be here, to be working with Maurizio Sarri again and to be at a club with so much history.

“I’m just really happy to have completed the move and I hope to achieve all the goals which the club has set for itself between now and the end of the season.”

Chelsea FC suffered a 2-0 loss to bitter rivals Arsenal in their last Premier League fixture at The Emirates last weekend.

The Blues are in fourth place and three points ahead of Arsenal and Manchester United in the race to secure the final Champions League spot.
