Belgian reporter delivers latest update on Eden Hazard’s Chelsea FC future
Belgian journalist Kristof Terreur delivers the latest update about Eden Hazard's future at Chelsea FC
Eden Hazard has rejected two contract offers at Chelsea FC and is waiting to see if Real Madrid will try and make a move to sign him, according to Belgian journalist Kristof Terreur.
The 28-year-old’s future at Chelsea FC have long been a source of speculation due to the fact that his current contract with the west London club is due to expire at the end of next season.
Hazard has long been touted as a possible target for Real Madrid but a move to the Spanish side is yet to materialise.
Now, Belgian reporter Terreur has claimed that Real Madrid have not spoken to either Chelsea FC or Hazard himself about a possible move, although that could change in the future.
Speaking on the Sky Sports Transfer Talk podcast, Terreur said: “He [Hazard] has rejected two contract offers so far.
“He is waiting for one thing – that’s Real Madrid. They still haven’t made their move. They don’t have an agreement with Hazard or Chelsea. They haven’t even made a phone call.
“Now they might come in again. It is easier to sign a player with one year on his contract. He doesn’t think about PSG.”
Hazard is widely regarded as one of the top attacking midfielders in the Premier League and he has been in fine form under new boss Maurizio Sarri so far this season.
The playmaker has scored 10 goals and made 10 assists in 21 Premier League games so far this season and he will be hoping to help the Blues qualify for next season’s Champions League.
Chelsea FC will take on Arsenal at The Emirates in the Premier League on Saturday night.
