Sky Sports pundit: There’s nothing ‘magnificent’ Chelsea FC star can’t do
Jamie Redknapp praises Eden Hazard for his fine display against Tottenham for Chelsea FC last week
Jamie Redknapp has singled out Eden Hazard for special praise after the Belgian helped to inspire Chelsea FC to the League Cup final at the expense of Tottenham.
The 28-year-old playmaker was the star of the show on Thursday night as he helped the Blues to secure their spot in the final against Manchester City thanks to a penalty shootout win.
Hazard scored for the Blues as they sealed a 2-1 win in front of their home fans to force the tie to penalties, with Eric Dier and Lucas Moura both missing their spot-kicks.
The Belgium international is widely regarded as one of the top attacking talents in European football, and Hazard has scored 13 goals and made 10 assists in all competitions so far this season under Maurizio Sarri.
And former Liverpool FC midfielder Redknapp is clearly a keen admirer of the Belgian playmaker as he reflected on Hazard’s display after Thursday’s win.
Speaking to Sky Sports after the game, Redknapp said of Hazard: “He’s magnificent. He’s worth the entrance fee.
“You watch some of the things he does – the touches, the way he goes past people and that was not a simple finish [for his goal].
“There’s nothing he can’t do – the little one-twos, how he injects pace into the game like no-one else can.
“[Gonzalo] Higuain will have been watching, thinking, ‘I’ll have a bit of that’.”
Hazard could be set to feature for Chelsea FC when the Blues return to FA Cup action on Sunday night with a home clash against Sheffield Wednesday in the fourth round.
The Blues are currently fourth in the table as they chase Champions League qualification this season.
