The 26-year-old’s situation at Stamford Bridge has been a constant source of speculation of late following his stuttering form for the west London club.
Morata has only started 11 of Chelsea FC’s 21 Premier League games so far this season and has only managed to net five times in the English top flight.
With the January transfer window now open, Morata has been linked with a loan move away from Chelsea FC until the end of the season at least.
Now, Spanish football journalist Balague has revealed that both Atletico Madrid and Sevilla are in the running to land Morata – who signed for Chelsea FC in 2017 – this month.
Speaking in an interview with BBC Radio 5 live, Balague said: “Morata wants to leave Chelsea, it has not been the right club for him.
“The style does not suit him and he will go back. He has said yes to Sevilla but 24 hours later Atletico Madrid said they are interested as well. Nothing has been signed.
“Chelsea will let him go on loan because that is the only situation in which both Sevilla and Atletico will have him, and they will have to pay at least half of his 9m euro (£8.12m) wages until the end of the season.”
Chelsea FC are currently in fourth place in the Premier League table as they look to try and qualify for next season’s Champions League.
The west London side are preparing for their home Premier League clash against Newcastle United at Stamford Bridge on Saturday night.
