The Blues are one of the main contenders to finish in the top four as they seek Champions League qualification under new boss Maurizio Sarri.
Chelsea FC currently find themselves in fourth place in the Premier League table as they look to try and secure qualification for Europe’s elite club competition.
The west London side have won three, drawn one and lost one of their last five Premier League games and they head into Saturday’s tie with the Magpies on the back of their frustrating goalless draw with Southampton last time out.
Since then, Chelsea FC booked their place in the FA Cup fourth round with a 2-0 win over Nottingham Forest, and lost 1-0 to Tottenham in the first leg of their League Cup semi-final.
However, Owen feels that the Blues will have too much for Rafael Benitez’s side at Stamford Bridge this weekend.
Writing in his column for BetVictor, Owen said: “Chelsea have scored 18 times in their last six home league games with Newcastle who have only scored twice in reply.
“The Blues have failed to score in their last two home league games, but I just can’t see United keeping the hosts at arm’s length.
“The Magpies continue to struggle for goals – just four in their last eight league games – and I expect the hosts to win a low-scoring affair.”
Chelsea FC will return to Premier League action next weekend with a crunch clash against Arsenal at The Emirates on Saturday 19 January.
