Maurizio Sarri delivers fresh update on Chelsea FC January transfer plans
Maurizio Sarri delivers the latest update on Chelsea FC's plans for the January transfer window
Maurizio Sarri has said that he is hoping to sign two players for Chelsea FC in the January transfer window.
The Blues are currently in fourth place in the Premier League table as they look to secure Champions League qualification in Sarri’s first campaign in charge at Stamford Bridge.
With the January transfer window now open, the Blues are inevitably being linked with a number of potential deals.
Chelsea FC have already signed Christian Pulisic this month but they immediately loaned the United States international back to Borussia Dortmund until the end of the season.
Despite the speculation, Chelsea FC are yet to confirm any more arrivals this month.
Now, Sarri has indicated that he would like to bring in two new players this month, although he admits that the likes of Callum Hudson-Odoi and Ethan Ampadu could both stake claims for spots in the first team this season.
Asked about his plans for the January transfer window, Sarri is quoted as saying by Metro: “As I said before, the club knows my opinion, and in my opinion we need two players.
“If you ask me something else then I don’t know what to answer because I am not in charge of the market.
“The bench is not very short. It has been left short in only one position at the moment because I think that Hudson-Odoi is improving.
“In one or two months he will be at the same level as the other players. I hope the same for Ampadu.”
Chelsea FC will return to Premier League action on Saturday with a crunch clash against fifth-placed Arsenal at The Emirates.
The Blues currently find themselves six points ahead of their London rivals in the Premier League table heading into the clash.
