Sky Sports pundit rates reported Chelsea FC transfer target
The Liverpool FC legend believes Bournemouth would be open to selling Callum Wilson if Chelsea FC offered £75m
Jamie Redknapp believes Bournemouth would be unable to resist a £75m offer for Callum Wilson from Chelsea FC in the January transfer window.
The Blues have been linked with a big-money swoop to sign the former England Under-21 international to improve their attacking options under Maurizio Sarri.
Chelsea FC have lacked a cutting edge up front this season due to the well-documented struggles of Spain international Alvaro Morata and former Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud.
Wilson has been one of Bournemouth’s standout players in the current campaign following a credible return of nine goals and five assists in 20 games in the Premier League.
The Cherries striker has also made his full England debut and opened his account for the Three Lions in a 3-0 win over USA at Wembley last year.
Sky Sports pundit Redknapp, who got his first taste of senior football at Bournemouth, believes the Cherries would have to sell if they received an offer in the region of £75m.
“I’d sell Wilson for £75m,” Redknapp told Sky Sports.
“I’m a big fan [of his] and I started my career at Bournemouth.
“If you get that [£75m bid] you have to take it. It’s a no-brainer. He is a good player. He has had injuries in the past. He has tremendous pace. £75m is a lot of money.”
Chelsea FC were 2-1 winners against Newcastle United in the Premier League on Saturday evening to cement their place in the top four.
Sarri has been reliant on Eden Hazard to score their goals in a lone striker role throughout much of the campaign due to the poor form of Morata.
