Why Chelsea FC may be disappointed in hunt to sign 26-year-old – report
Chelsea FC could be set for disappointment in their attempts to sign Callum Wilson, say reports
Chelsea FC could be set for disappointment in their attempts to sign Callum Wilson from Bournemouth this month, according to reports in the British media.
The Daily Mirror is reporting that Wilson has emerged as a target for Chelsea FC as Maurizio Sarri looks to bolster his attacking options at Stamford Bridge in the mid-season transfer window.
However, the same report says that Bournemouth do not want to sell the 26-year-old attacker this month – and that they don’t need to either.
For that reason, the story suggests that Chelsea FC may find it difficult to tempt the Cherries into selling Wilson this month.
According to the same article, Chelsea FC may then be forced to look elsewhere for attacking reinforcements.
The story says that AC Milan attacker Gonzalo Higuain remains as Chelsea FC’s top target this month.
The article also says that Sarri is keen to bring in another attacking option as a replacement for the misfiring Alvaro Morata.
Meanwhile, Chelsea FC are currently gearing up for the first leg of their League Cup semi-final clash against Tottenham Hotspur at Wembley on Tuesday night.
The Blues booked their place in the FA Cup fourth round thanks to their 2-0 home win against Nottingham Forest on Saturday.
