The Blues made Pulisic the most expensive American footballer in history on Wednesday after the west London side signed the 20-year-old in a £58m deal from Bundesliga leaders Borussia Dortmund.
Pulisic, who had been previously linked with a move to Liverpool FC, has signed a long-term deal with the west London side after reaching the final 18 months of his current contract at the German club.
However, he has been loaned straight back to Dortmund until the end of the season and will complete his move to Stamford Bridge in the summer.
The United States international had established himself as one of Dortmund’s most exciting talents over the past few seasons, although Pulisic has been used sparingly in the current campaign so far.
Hazard has been linked with a move to Real Madrid on a regular basis over the past year or so and the Belgian forward has less than 18 months left on his current deal.
Bundesliga expert Honigstein doesn’t believe Pulisic’s arrival will have an impact on Hazard’s future at Chelsea.
Honigstein wrote on Twitter: “CFC interest in upgrading their options in AM irrespective of Hazard staying or leaving, they were worried they’d be huge bids for PS (Pulisic) arriving in 2019, thought best to tie it up now.
“PS and BVB both wanted his departure to be smooth and without rancour.”
Chelsea FC signed Italy international Jorginho in a £57m deal from Napoli in the summer before the Blues made Kepa Arrizabalaga the most expensive goalkeeper in the world after a £73m move from Athletic Bilbao.
