The United States international became the first Chelsea FC signing of the January transfer window, although the talented playmaker has been loaned back to Borussia Dortmund until the end of the season.
Pulisic has established himself as a key player for Borussia Dortmund over the past few campaigns but the American attacker had indicated that he wouldn’t be extending his stay at the German club beyond 2020.
The 20-year-old was regularly linked with a move to Liverpool FC over the past 12 months after Klopp was in charge of Dortmund when Pulisic first arrived at Westfalenstadion.
While Pulisic didn’t make a first-team appearance under Klopp, there had been a suggestion that the German head coach was a big admirer of the new Chelsea FC signing.
The United States international scored 15 times in 115 games in the past four seasons at Dortmund, while Pulisic has won the German Cup.
Asked about Pulisic’s transfer to Chelsea FC ahead of Liverpool FC’s clash against Manchester City on Thursday night, Klopp said: “He’s a really good player and another good one for Chelsea.
“He is a good player, I’ve known him for a while and followed him. He’s a good signing.
“It’s a good deal as well for Dortmund they can keep him and Chelsea gets him next year. He’s another really skilled boy playing who is going to be playing in England.”
Pulisic could win his first Bundesliga title this season given that Dortmund are six points ahead of Bayern Munich as things stand.
