Website Goal is reporting that the west London side have opted not to pursue a deal for the 31-year-old forward, who is currently on loan to AC Milan from Juventus.
The same story says that the Blues have decided not to make a move due to the “complexities of the deal” and they will instead focus on other potential signings this month.
The article claims that Chelsea FC were not keen on having to negotiate with two separate clubs – AC Milan and Juventus – to make the move happen.
The story goes on to claim that Maurizio Sarri is still keen to bring in an attacking player this month as he aims to boost his side’s hopes of finishing in the top four this season.
The Blues are currently in fourth place in the table but just three points ahead of Arsenal and six points ahead of Manchester United in the top flight table.
Meanwhile, Chelsea FC will turn their attentions towards FA Cup affairs on Saturday when they take on Nottingham Forest in the third round at Stamford Bridge.
