Chelsea FC are closing in on a deal to sign Gonzalo Higuain from Juventus, say reports
Chelsea FC are closing in on the signing of Gonzalo Higuain from Juventus, according to reports in the British media.
The Daily Telegraph is reporting that the Blues have now made an “official” offer to Juventus to sign the 31-year-old, who is currently on loan to AC Milan.
The Blues have made a bid to take the Argentina international on loan until the end of the season with the option to buy him or loan him for another 12 months, according to the same article.
According to the same story, Higuain’s deal at AC Milan will now be cut short so that he can move to Stamford Bridge, providing that he can agree personal terms with the Blues.
The Daily Telegraph says that Higuain is likely to be a replacement for Alvaro Morata, with Atletico Madrid expected to sign the 26-year-old striker either on loan or permanently.
The same story concludes that Chelsea FC boss Maurizio Sarri is likely to be “delighted” by the deal, given that the Italian is a keen admirer of the striker and worked with him at Napoli.
Meanwhile, Sarri is currently preparing his Chelsea FC team for their crunch Premier League showdown with Arsenal at The Emirates on Saturday night.
