Chelsea FC have agreed personal terms with Leandro Paredes but need to strike an agreement with Zenit Saint Petersburg, according to a report in England
Chelsea FC have agreed personal terms with Zenit Saint Petersburg midfielder Leandro Paredes, according to a report in England.
The Daily Mirror is reporting that the west London outfit are closing in on a deal to sign the 24-year-old from the top Russian club in the January transfer window.
The same article states that Chelsea FC have already reached an agreement with Paredes but the Blues need to agree a fee with Zenit for the Argentina international.
According to the same story, Zenit are looking to sign a replacement for Paredes before the South American is allowed to move to Stamford Bridge this month.
The Daily Mirror adds that Zenit are concerned about the 5ft 11ins midfielder going on strike in an attempt to force a move to Chelsea FC.
Paredes has scored three goals in 19 games in all competitions this season to attract interest from the Premier League’s top-four challengers.
Zenit signed the Argentinian midfielder in a €27m deal from Serie A giants AS Roma in 2017 after three seasons at the Italian outfit.
Chelsea FC sold Cesc Fabregas to AS Monaco last week following four-and-a-half seasons at Stamford Bridge, meaning that the Blues could well be on the lookout for a replacement this month.
Fabregas won two Premier League titles, the FA Cup and the League Cup during his stint at Chelsea FC.
