Chelsea FC linked with surprise bid to re-sign 23-year-old – report
Chelsea FC are ready to launch a move to re-sign Bournemouth defender Nathan Ake in the summer, according to a report
Chelsea FC are set to make a surprise bid to re-sign Bournemouth defender Nathan Ake – despite selling the Netherlands international to their Premier League rivals in 2017, according to a report in England.
The Sun is reporting that the Blues are weighing up a potential move to sign Ake in the 2019 summer transfer window despite offloading the Dutch centre-half in a £20m deal little over 18 months ago.
The same article states that Bournemouth would look to secure a transfer fee in the region of £40m for the 23-year-old defender if the Cherries were to consider selling the promising Dutch talent back to Chelsea FC.
According to the same story, the Blues could face stiff competition to sign Ake given that Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur and defending Premier League champions Manchester City have all been linked with the Bournemouth defender.
The Sun adds that Bournemouth are braced to receive an offer from Chelsea FC in the coming months for the Netherlands international as Maurizio Sarri looks to revamp his defence following his appointment in the summer.
Ake has scored three goals in 22 Premier League games for Bournemouth so far this season.
Chelsea FC sold Cesc Fabregas to AS Monaco last week to end his four-and-a-half seasons at Stamford Bridge, while Alvaro Morata has been linked with a move away from the west London club in the current market.
