Fabregas was pictured in tears as he walked off the pitch during the 2-0 win over Nottingham Forest in the FA Cup on Saturday at Stamford Bridge, suggesting that he may have played his final game for the club.
The 31-year-old has been linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge due to his lack of playing time this season under new Chelsea FC boss Maurizio Sarri.
The former Arsenal captain has been a big hit at Chelsea FC, with the midfielder having won two Premier League titles since his move to the west London club back in the summer of 2014.
Hazard has played alongside Fabregas since his arrival at the club four and a half years ago, and the Belgian playmaker is clearly full of respect for the Spanish midfielder.
Speaking in an interview quoted by Metro, Hazard said: “In five years I can say that I was lucky to play with him. Since the beginning when he came we won the double together.
“Top guy on the pitch and off the pitch. A great friend of mine. I just have admiration for this guy.
“I hope he will have a good future. He is still a very good player. He will enjoy it.”
Chelsea FC are currently preparing for their League Cup semi-final clash against Tottenham Hotspur at Wembley on Tuesday night.
The Blues are currently in fourth place in the Premier League table as they chase Champions League qualification.
