Linda Pizzuti Henry went through the ringer as the Liverpool FC owner's wife watched the Reds edge to a narrow 4-3 win
Linda Pizzuti Henry, the wife of Liverpool FC owner John W Henry, took to social media to admit that the Reds’ 4-3 victory over Crystal Palace wasn’t enjoyable despite them moving seven points clear at the top of the Premier League table on Saturday evening.
Liverpool FC made a slow start and Crystal Palace punished the home side in the 34th minute when Wilfried Zaha beat James Milner for pace and Andros Townsend slotted a finish past Alisson Becker.
Mohamed Salah equalised in the 46th minute with a close-range finish after Virgil van Dijk’s deflected shot fell kindly into his path.
The Merseyside outfit went ahead in the 53rd minute when Roberto Firmino’s strike was deflected past Julian Speroni, but James Tomkins levelled eight minutes later to ensure a nervous finish.
Salah restored Liverpool FC’s lead in fortuitous circumstances when Julian Speroni pushed the ball into the Egyptian’s path and the striker bundled the ball over the line.
Sadio Mane appeared to have sealed three points with his late solo goal in the fourth minute of added time before Max Meyer added a late consolation to complete the seven-goal thriller.
Linda Pizzuti Henry, took to Twitter after the game to celebrate a huge win for the Premier League leaders.
She wrote on Twitter: “3 more points for @LFC after a harrowing match. Liverpool is holding strong at the top of the table #LIVCRY.”
Liverpool FC are seven points ahead of second-placed Manchester City ahead of the Citizens’ away trip to relegation candidates Huddersfield Town on Sunday.
Meanwhile, ex-Liverpool FC defender Djimi Traore paid credit to Klopp’s side after a nervous win.
Traore wrote on Twitter: “Game over @LFC well done lads. Top of the league #YNWA.”
