Michael Owen is backing Liverpool FC to beat Crystal Palace and keep a clean sheet at Anfield on Saturday afternoon.

The Reds will start the Premier League weekend at the top of the table and four points ahead of second-placed Manchester City in the title race.

Liverpool FC have bounced back from a 2-1 loss to Manchester City with a 1-0 victory over Brighton and Hove Albion last weekend thanks to Mohamed Salah’s winner from the penalty spot.

The Merseyside outfit have the chance to move seven points ahead of Manchester City before Pep Guardiola’s side take on Huddersfield Town at John Smith’s Stadium on Sunday.

Liverpool FC were 2-0 winners against Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park back in August courtesy of goals from James Milner and Sadio Mane.

Former Liverpool FC striker Owen is tipping Jurgen Klopp’s side to ease to a straightforward win against Crystal Palace to maintain their lead at the top.

“Palace have won three of their last four Premier League games at Anfield but did the Reds a favour when gaining a famous 3-2 win at the Etihad Stadium last month,” Owen told BetVictor.

“Jurgen Klopp’s side have kept a clean sheet in 12 of their last 16 home Premier League games and I feel it will be difficult for the Eagles, managed by former Liverpool boss Roy Hodgson, to create goalscoring opportunities.

“Another Liverpool home win for me.”

Liverpool FC finished in fourth place in the Premier League table last season to secure a spot in the Champions League for the second successive campaign.

The Reds are still waiting to win silverware under Klopp, having suffered defeats in League Cup, Europa League and Champions League finals.

The Merseyside outfit have collected 57 points from 22 games in the Premier League this term.
