Simon Mignolet has revealed that he and his Liverpool FC team-mates are not talking about winning the title this season in the dressing room.

The Reds have been in superb form this season and they are currently leading the way at the top of the Premier League table as they seek their first major trophy under Jurgen Klopp.

Liverpool FC are currently four points clear of second placed Manchester City heading into this week’s round of games.

With less than half of the season to go, Liverpool FC are rightly being talked up as genuine contenders to win their first-ever Premier League title.

However, the Belgian goalkeeper has now revealed that he and his team-mates are simply taking it game by game as they look to try and lift the trophy in May.

Speaking in an interview quoted on Liverpool FC’s website, Mignolet said: “All of the players here would instantly become legends [if we won the title]. It would be massive after so long without winning it.

“But now isn’t the time to think about that. In the dressing room we never really speak about the title. We know we are in the race, we don’t have to be silly.

“It’s a positive at this stage of the season but things can change quickly. We need to keep at this level to stay in the race.

“We’ve won the last two since losing to City. That defeat made things tighter at the top but the performance was something where we showed we are on the same level as them. The belief is high.

“All the fans are so hungry and eager for it. The title is the biggest thing you can fight for.

“We all have a part to play to really push the lads and do our jobs the best that we can to help us achieve it.”

Liverpool FC will try to maintain their fine form when they host Leicester City at Anfield on Wednesday night.

The Reds have won four of their last five games in the top flight – and their only defeat so far this season has come at the hands of title challengers Manchester City.
