Jurgen Klopp weighing up summer Liverpool FC offer for 27-year-old Celtic star – report
The Liverpool FC manager is considering a summer swoop to sign Celtic winger James Forrest, according to a report
Jurgen Klopp is considering a Liverpool FC move to sign Celtic winger James Forrest in the summer transfer window, according to a report in England.
The Scottish Sun is reporting that the Premier League leaders have been tracking the 27-year-old SPL star but with a summer bid in mind rather than a move in the January transfer window.
The same article states that Celtic would like to secure a transfer fee in the region of £8m for the Scotland international given his impressive form for the SPL champions.
According to the same story, Klopp is thought to be an admirer of the Celtic youth product as the Reds continue to track Forrest’s impressive form under ex-Liverpool FC boss Brendan Rodgers.
Forrest has scored eight goals in 18 games in the SPL this term, while the Scot has contributed two assists and netted two goals in 11 games in Europe in the current campaign.
Liverpool FC have enjoyed success in terms of signing Scottish talent under Klopp after the Reds brought in Andy Robertson in an £8m deal from Hull City in the 2017 summer transfer window.
The Scotland captain has blossomed into one of the best left-backs in the Premier League since his move to Anfield, while Robertson featured in their 3-1 loss to Real Madrid in the Champions League final in May 2018.
Liverpool FC are currently top of the Premier League table ahead of their home clash with Crystal Palace on Saturday afternoon.
