Liverpool FC would rather unearth new talent than re-sign Philippe Coutinho from FC Barcelona, according to a report in England
Liverpool FC have no interest in a re-signing FC Barcelona star Philippe Coutinho, according to a report in England.
The Telegraph, as quoted by Metro, is reporting that the Merseyside outfit have no interest in a swoop to sign the Brazil international.
The same article states that Coutinho is growingly increasingly discontent with his situation at FC Barcelona following an underwhelming 2018-19 campaign.
According to the same story, Liverpool FC would prefer to discover some new talent rather than revert back to the 26-year-old playmaker.
Coutinho was a fans’ favourite during his five seasons at Liverpool FC after a return of 54 goals in 201 appearances in all competitions.
The South American forward handed in a transfer request to force through his move to FC Barcelona in January 2018 to link up with his ex-Reds team-mate Luis Suarez.
A report in Spain last week suggested that Liverpool FC’s bitter rivals Manchester United have been linked with a swoop to sign the FC Barcelona star.
Coutinho has only started 10 times in 22 games in La Liga this season, while the Brazilian has made a further seven appearances from the bench.
The South American has only netted 16 goals in 47 games in all competitions for FC Barcelona since his move big-money move to Camp Nou.
Liverpool FC have reached the Champions League final and have managed to secure top spot in the Premier League since Coutinho’s departure.
