Marcus Rashford lauded by Man United team-mate after 2-1 win over Brighton
Marcus Rashford was hailed by Ashley Young after Man United's 2-1 win over Brighton on Saturday
Ashley Young reserved special praise for Marcus Rashford after the striker helped to fire Manchester United to a 2-1 win over Brighton and Hove Albion at Old Trafford on Saturday.
The Red Devils took the lead in the 27th minute when Paul Pogba scored his penalty, and Rashford netted a fine solo goal in the 42nd minute to put the home side in control.
Pascal Gross pulled a goal back for the visitors in the 72nd minute but Manchester United held on to make it seven straight wins in all competitions under interim boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
Rashford has now scored eight goals and made six assists in the Premier League so far this season.
And his Manchester United team-mate Young was full of praise for his “unbelievable” team-mate after the final whistle at Old Trafford.
Speaking in an interview with BBC Sport, Young said: “Marcus Rashford is an unbelievable talent.
“I have said it since he was in the youth team. He has the world ahead of him and can be one of the best in the world.
“I think he was off balance and still found the net.”
Young went on to admit that Solskjaer had helped to bring some confidence back to the Manchester United squad following the sacking of Jose Mourinho back in December.
He continued: “We are delighted to get seven wins under Ole. When you are full of confidence you think you are going to win every game.
“It was backs to the wall when they scored but we still created chances and we are delighted with that win.”
Manchester United, who are now fifth in the Premier League table, will return to FA Cup action with a fourth-round clash against Arsenal at The Emirates on Friday night.
