Gary Lineker sends message to Marcus Rashford after Man United’s 2-1 win over Brighton
Gary Lineker has his say after Marcus Rashford helped Man United claim a 2-1 win over Brighton on Saturday
Gary Lineker took to social media to single out Marcus Rashford for special praise after he helped to fire Manchester United to a 2-1 win over Brighton and Hove Albion.
The Red Devils took the lead in the 27th minute thanks to Paul Pogba’s penalty as they looked to continue their fine start under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
Rashford then made it 2-0 in the 42nd minute with a brilliant solo goal as Manchester United headed into the break in full control.
Pascal Gross pulled one back for the visitors in the 72nd minute.
However, Manchester United held on to make it seven straight wins under interim boss Solskjaer as the Red Devils moved up into fifth place in the Premier League table.
Reacting to Rashford’s goal on Twitter, England legend Lineker wrote: “Stunning goal from @MarcusRashford. Great to see him back on track under a manager that embraces his prodigious talent.”
Lineker had also reacted to Pogba’s penalty earlier in the game on the social network. He wrote: “Pogba scores a penalty and gets booked for time wasting in the process….not really, I made that up…. the time wasting bit.”
Rashford has been in good form for Manchester United so far this season.
The 21-year-old striker has now netted eight goals and made six assists in the Premier League for the Red Devils.
Manchester United will take on Arsenal in the fourth round of the FA Cup on Friday at The Emirates in their next game.
