The Red Devils will welcome Reading to the Theatre of Dreams in pursuit of a fifth successive win in all competitions under their interim Manchester United manager.
Manchester United were 2-0 winners at Newcastle United on Wednesday night, having already scored 12 goals in victories over Cardiff City, Huddersfield Town and Bournemouth.
Solskjaer has restored the attacking ethos at Manchester United to allow players such as Anthony Martial, Paul Pogba and Marcus Rashford to thrive over the past four games.
With a Champions League clash against Ligue 1 leaders PSG in the last 16 next month and a Premier League title challenge out of the question, winning the FA Cup represents Solskjaer’s best chance of getting his hands on silverware this season.
Manchester United are heavy favourites to make the fourth round given Reading are in 23rd place in the Championship and five points from safety following 14 defeats in 24 league games.
Former Liverpool FC defender Lawrenson is backing Manchester United to maintain their 100 per cent record under Solskjaer when Reading visit Old Trafford on Saturday afternoon.
“Manchester United are flying under interim manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and he will just want to keep that momentum going against a Reading side that are struggling in the Championship,” Lawrenson told BBC Sport.
Manchester United will return to Premier League action with a trip to Spurs on Sunday 13 January.
