Man United reject Arsenal’s bid to sign 24-year-old on loan – report
Manchester United won't consider Eric Bailly moving to Arsenal on loan in the January transfer window, according to a report
Manchester United have knocked back Arsenal’s approach to sign Eric Bailly on loan for the remainder of the season, according to a report.
The Daily Mail, as quoted by Metro, is reporting that the Gunners are interested in a deal to sign the Ivory Coast international to ease their injury crisis at the back.
Unai Emery believes that Bailly, 24, would be a capable replacement for Rob Holding after the England international suffered a serious knee injury in a 2-2 draw at Manchester United last month, the story goes on to state.
The same article adds that Manchester United have emphatically rejected Arsenal’s offer as the Red Devils don’t want to improve the squad of one of their top-four rivals.
The report says that a decision about Bailly’s future won’t be made until Manchester United appoint a permanent manager in the summer.
The Ivorian centre-half has 18 months left to run on his current deal at the 20-time English champions to inevitably fuel speculation surrounding his future.
Arsenal were 2-0 winners against fourth-placed Chelsea FC at The Emirates last weekend to move to within three points of Maurizio Sarri’s side.
Manchester United are level on points with Arsenal in fifth spot after a 2-0 win against Brighton at Old Trafford last weekend.
