Ole Gunnar Solskjaer hoping for Man United to sign 21-year-old winger – report
Manchester United are set to scout PSV Eindhoven winger Steven Bergwijn, according to reports
Manchester United are set to scout PSV Eindhoven winger Steven Bergwijn ahead of a potential move to sign the youngster, according to reports in the British media.
The Sun is reporting that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is “hoping” to bring the 21-year-old to Old Trafford as he looks to strengthen his squad.
According to the same story, Solskjaer is set to deploy scouts to watch the Dutchman in action in the coming days and weeks.
The winger has been in fine form for PSV so far this season and has managed to score nine goals and make seven assists in just 16 Dutch league games.
The Sun adds that both Manchester United and Liverpool FC sent scouts to watch Bergwijn in action back in October.
However, the story also claims that signing Bergwijn is unlikely to be easy for Manchester United. PSV Eindhoven rejected bids from both Torino and Bordeaux last summer, according to the same article.
Meanwhile, Manchester United are currently preparing for their home Premier League clash against Brighton on Saturday at Old Trafford as they look to continue their 100 per cent start under their new manager.
The Red Devils haven’t dropped any points under interim boss Solskjaer since his appointment following Jose Mourinho’s sacking last month.
