Mesut Ozil takes to social media to reveal that he is working hard behind the scenes at Arsenal's training ground

Mesut Ozil has taken to social media to reveal that he is working hard behind the scenes despite his lack of playing time at Arsenal of late.

The playmaker has struggled with form and fitness issues this season under new boss Unai Emery, and he has not featured for Arsenal since being substituted at half-time against Brighton on Boxing Day.

There has been plenty of speculation about Ozil’s future at the north London club, given that he is the Gunners’ highest earning player.

Ozil has only made 12 starts in the Premier League so far this season and it remains to be seen whether he will feature when Arsenal take on Chelsea FC at The Emirates this weekend.

However, the playmaker has now taken to social media to issue a cryptic update.

He posted a picture of himself training at the club’s London Colney base on Instagram and wrote the caption: “No matter what … put in the work 💪🏼 #M1Ö #YaGunnersYa @arsenal.”

Arsenal head into their clash with Chelsea FC in fifth place in the Premier League table and six points behind Maurizio Sarri’s side.

Emery has been tasked with steering Arsenal back into the top four this season, but the Gunners have struggled for consistent form of late.

The north London side have only won two of their last five Premier League games, losing twice and drawing once.
