Real Madrid are set to make signing Eden Hazard from Chelsea FC their top transfer priority this summer, say reports
Real Madrid are set to make signing Eden Hazard from Chelsea FC their top transfer target this summer, according to reports in the Spanish media.
Spanish newspaper AS is reporting that the La Liga side are determined to try and bring Hazard, 28, to the Bernabeu this summer after having been linked with a move for the playmaker for years.
The same story says that Real Madrid have essentially ended their pursuit of Tottenham Hotspur playmaker Christian Eriksen and they will now focus their efforts on trying to land Hazard this summer.
Hazard is widely regarded as one of European football’s top attacking talents and he has been in superb form for Chelsea FC this season.
He has scored 10 goals and made 10 assists in 22 Premier League appearances so far this season.
According to the same story, Real Madrid would not be willing to pay much more than €100m (£86.3m) to land Hazard this summer.
The Belgium international’s current contract is set to expire in the summer of 2020 and he is yet to sign a new deal with the Blues, meaning that he could potentially leave for free at the end of next season as things stand.
Meanwhile, Hazard will be expecting to feature for Chelsea FC when the Blues travel to Bournemouth in the Premier League on Wednesday night.
