Spurs were being talked up as potential title challengers last month after Manchester City suffered losses to Chelsea FC, Crystal Palace and Leicester City.
Tottenham hoisted themselves to second place in the Premier League table after scoring 11 goals in emphatic league victories over Everton and Bournemouth.
The Lilywhites suffered a surprise 3-1 loss to Wolves at Wembley to squander their chance to put Premier League leaders Liverpool FC under pressure in the title race.
While the north London side returned to winning ways with a 3-0 win at Cardiff, Mauricio Pochettino’s side are six points adrift of Liverpool FC with 17 games to go.
Former Manchester United defender Neville has discounted Spurs from the title race due to a lack of depth in Pochettino’s squad.
“No, I don’t think so,” Neville told Sky Sports when asked if Tottenham can win the title.
“That’s not being disrespectful to Tottenham, I don’t think they’ve got the depth and the quality of these two squads. They are a fantastic team, but they’re not at the level we’ve seen from these two tonight.”
Tottenham have finished in the top four in the last three seasons and even challenged 2016 and 2017 champions Leicester and Chelsea FC.
Spurs managed to book their place in the Champions League round of 16 and Pochettino’s men will take on Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund for a place in the quarter-finals.
Chelsea FC will take on Tottenham in the League Cup semi-final with a place in the Wembley up for grabs.
