Piers Morgan has taken to social media to salute Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang after the striker helped to fire Arsenal to a 5-1 win over Bournemouth in the Premier League on Wednesday night.
Arsenal headed into the midweek game looking to maintain their place in fourth spot in the Premier League game as they aim to qualify for next season’s Champions League.
Mesut Ozil gave the home side the lead in just the fourth minute at The Emirates, and Henrikh Mkhitaryan made it 2-0 in the 27th minute.
Lys Mousset pulled one back for the Cherries after half an hour, but Laurent Koscielny re-established the home side’s two-goal cushion shortly after the start of the second half.
Aubameyang then made it 4-1 for Arsenal with a cool finish as he netted his 16th Premier League goal of the season for the Gunners.
Alexandre Lacazette then made it 5-1 when he netted a brilliant free-kick in the 78th minute for Unai Emery’s side.
Celebrity Arsenal fan Morgan regularly takes to social media to discuss the Gunners’ performances, and he was clearly impressed by what he saw from the Gabon international on Wednesday night.
After Aubameyang made it 4-1, Morgan tweeted: “4-1. Great finish by @Aubameyang7. So good to have a proper striker again who you KNOW will score when he’s 1-on-1. #afcvbfc.”
And following Lacazette’s goal, Morgan tweeted: “5-1. Brilliant free kick by @LacazetteAlex – starting to really, REALLY like this guy. Top class player with a superb attitude & work ethic. 👍 #afcvbfc.”
The win left Arsenal in fourth place in the Premier League table and a point ahead of Manchester United in fifth place.
The Gunners will travel to Tottenham to take on their bitter local rivals on Saturday afternoon.
