Arsene Wenger: What I think about Arsenal’s Aaron Ramsey decision
Arsene Wenger opens up about Arsenal's decision to let Aaron Ramsey leave and join Juventus
Arsene Wenger believes that Aaron Ramsey’s Arsenal exit to Juventus this summer will be a “big loss” for the north London side.
The 28-year-old announced earlier this month that he had signed a pre-contract agreement with the Serie A side ahead of a move to Italy at the end of the season.
Ramsey is moving to Juve on a free transfer, with his current deal set to expire at the end of this season.
The Wales international was one of Arsenal’s most consistent performers under Wenger during his time in charge at The Emirates and many fans will be surprised to see him go.
And Wenger, who signed Ramsey from Cardiff for Arsenal back in 2008, believes that the Gunners could end regretting their decision to let the midfielder leave.
Speaking in an interview quoted by The Sun, Wenger said: “It will be a loss for Arsenal.
“I must say it will be an interesting move for Ramsey.
“He is a player who is great going forward. His main quality is he can keep the final ball. And he makes interesting runs from deep.
“You don’t find many players today who can make midfield runs off the ball. It will be an interesting addition for Juventus.”
Ramsey has scored two goals and made six assists in 22 Premier League games under Unai Emery so far this season.
Arsenal – who are in fifth place int he Premier League table – are currently preparing for their home clash against BATE Borisov in the return leg of their Europa League last 32 tie on Thursday night.
