Mesut Ozil has taken to social media to post a cryptic message for Arsenal fans following his lack of playing time at The Emirates.

The 30-year-old playmaker has been used sparingly by Unai Emery this season, with the German struggling to hold down a regular spot in the first team at the north London club.

Ozil was once again left out of the matchday squad as the Gunners suffered a 1-0 loss to BATE Borisov in the Europa League on Thursday night.

The playmaker has only started 13 Premier League games for Emery’s side this season and his lack of playing time is inevitably sparking questions about his long-term future at The Emirates.

However, Ozil chose to take to social media on Friday to seemingly underline his love for Arsenal by posting a famous quote from Dennis Bergkamp.

Ozil shared the picture below on his personal Instagram account and wrote the caption: “When you start supporting a football club, you don’t support it because of the trophies, or a player, or history, you support it because you found yourself somewhere there; found a place where you belong. 🙏🏼 || @officialdennisbergkamp”

Ozil will be hoping to be involved for Arsenal when the Gunners return to Europa League action on Thursday night with a home clash against BATE Borisov.

The north London side will then take on Southampton at The Emirates on Sunday 24 February.
