Arsenal will reignite their interest in signing Ever Banega from Sevilla in the summer transfer window, according to reports in the British media.

The Daily Mirror is reporting that Arsenal manager Unai Emery is a “major fan” of the 30-year-old after having twice managed the midfielder at both Sevilla and Valencia.

The same article says that Arsenal could not complete a move to sign Banega in January due to a lack of transfer funds but that they are planning to look again at a potential deal in the summer.

It is claimed in the same article that the Argentina international would likely cost around £17m due to his buy-out clause.

The same article reports that Arsenal are on the lookout for a number of new signings this summer as they look to add to their squad.

It is claimed that the Gunners are after a new left-back, midfield reinforcements and a wide forward ahead of Emery’s second season in charge of the north London side.

Banega has been in decent form for Sevilla this season, scoring three goals and making two assists in 22 La Liga games.

Arsenal are preparing to take on BATE Borisov in the return leg of their Europa League last 32 clash on Thursday night.
