Georginio Wijnaldum is confident that Liverpool FC will have what it takes to reach the Champions League quarter-finals by beating Bayern Munich next month.

The Reds were held to a frustrating goalless draw by the German side on Tuesday night at Anfield in the first leg of their last 16 clash.

The result means that Liverpool FC will head to Germany in three weeks’ time needing to take the initiative as they look to book their place in the quarter-finals.

Wijnaldum insists that he is not concerned about Liverpool FC’s failure to find the net on Tuesday night and says he is confident that Jurgen Klopp’s side have what it takes to progress to the last eight.

Speaking in an interview with Liverpool FC’s website, Wijnaldum said: “The way we are playing we have the quality to create chances [in the second leg]. That’s why I’m happy we didn’t concede.

“I’m not really worried about scoring goals because we already showed we can do it in games before.

“We just have to do it again there. Hopefully we have a little bit more luck with the chances and hopefully we win.”

Meanwhile, Liverpool FC will switch their focus back towards the Premier League title race this weekend.

The Reds are preparing to travel to Old Trafford in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon as they take on bitter local rivals Manchester United.

The Merseyside outfit can move three points clear of defending champions and league leaders Manchester City with victory over the Red Devils this weekend.
