Michael Owen is backing Tottenham Hotspur to continue their recent impressive form by claiming a victory at Burnley on Saturday lunchtime in the Premier League.

Spurs have been quietly getting on with their business in the Premier League in recent weeks and they have won their last four games on the trot to leave them third in the table and five points behind joint leaders Manchester City and Liverpool FC.

The Lilywhites can move to within just two points of the table toppers with victory at Burnley this weekend, before Liverpool FC take on Manchester United at Old Trafford on Sunday afternoon.

Former Liverpool FC and Manchester United striker Owen is backing the Lilywhites to claim all three points when they travel to Turf Moor on Saturday lunchtime.

Writing in his column for BetVictor, Owen said: “Burnley are unbeaten in their last seven Premier League games, but they have a modest home record against the ‘big six’ taking just two points from the last 42 available.

“Spurs have kept a clean sheet in their last three visits to Turf Moor, but this is a much-improved Clarets side who will test the title credentials of Mauricio Pochettino’s side.

“I feel Spurs will edge what promises to be a terrific game between two inform sides and gain a club-record 12th Premier League away win of the campaign.”

Tottenham are still looking to win their first major trophy under manager Mauricio Pochettino.

They will take on London rivals Chelsea FC in the Premier League at Stamford Bridge next Wednesday night, before their crunch north London derby clash with Arsenal at Wembley on Saturday 2 March.

Tottenham will play Borussia Dortmund in the return leg of their Champions League last 16 clash on Tuesday 5 March, having won the first leg 3-0.
