Ross Barkley sends message to Chelsea FC fans about Maurizio Sarri
Ross Barkley has his say about Maurizio Sarri's future at Chelsea FC
Ross Barkley has told Chelsea FC fans to be patient with Maurizio Sarri as their new manager.
The Italian has found himself under intense pressure in recent weeks following the Blues’ stuttering form in the Premier League.
The west London side were thrashed 6-0 by Manchester City earlier this month to leave them sixth in the Premier League table and facing a battle to break back into the top four.
Indeed, Chelsea FC have lost three of their last four games in the Premier League to raise questions about Sarri’s long-term future at the club should they miss out on Champions League qualification.
However, England midfielder Barkley is clearly confident that the Blues will be able to pull through under Sarri and feels that the Italian should be given more time to make an impact at Stamford Bridge.
Speaking in an interview quoted by the Daily Express before the League Cup final against Manchester City, Barkley said: “You can see at Napoli how well he improved the players.
“We went through a bit of an up-and-down spell but we’re confident we’ll come through.
“If you compare Pep Guardiola’s first season, they went through a bit of an up-and-down spell.”
Chelsea FC will return to Premier League action on Wednesday night when they host Tottenham Hotspur at Stamford Bridge.
They will then take on Fulham away from home on Sunday 3 March as they look to try and keep up their push for a top-four finish in the Premier League.
