Maurizio Sarri drops hint about Eden Hazard’s Chelsea FC future
Maurizio Sarri opens up about Eden Hazard's situation at Chelsea FC amid the speculation about his future
Maurizio Sarri has insisted that he would love Eden Hazard to stay at Chelsea FC but has hinted that he would not stand in his way if the Belgian wants to leave.
Hazard’s situation at Stamford Bridge has been a constant source of speculation in recent months and he has regularly been touted as a possible target for Real Madrid.
The speculation about the 28-year-old’s future is likely to continue to gather pace in the coming weeks and months, given that his current deal is set to expire at the end of next season.
Chelsea FC fans will of course be hoping to see Hazard commit his long-term future to the west London side by signing a new deal at Stamford Bridge.
And although Chelsea FC boss Sarri admits that he would love to see the playmaker sign a new contract, he has suggested that he would not stand in his way if the Belgian makes it clear he wants to leave.
Sarri is quoted as saying by the Daily Star: “I speak every day with Eden, but I speak with Eden about his position on the pitch, not about [speculation].
“I will be really very happy with him if he will want to stay, because in my opinion he’s the best in Europe.
“And so I would be really very happy, but it’s up to him, I think. I want to see him happy. And so, he has to decide.”
Hazard has been in fine form so far this season and has scored 12 goals and made 10 assists in the Premier League so far this term.
He will be expecting to feature when the Blues return to Premier League action with a trip to Manchester City on Sunday.
