William Gallas tells Chelsea FC to sign quality 27-year-old attacker
The Chelsea FC legend would love to see his compatriot Antoine Griezmann move to Stamford Bridge
William Gallas has urged Chelsea FC to consider a deal to sign Atletico Madrid forward Antoine Griezmann in the future.
The 27-year-old France international has been regularly linked with a move to the Premier League since his emergence at los Rojiblancos.
Griezmann was on the brink of a switch to Manchester United in the 2017 summer transfer window but the World Cup winner ended up committing his future to Atletico.
Chelsea FC are in the process of overhauling their squad under Italian head coach Maurizio Sarri.
The Blues signed United States international Christian Pulisic in a £58m deal from Borussia Dortmund at the start of the January window before the 20-year-old was loaned back to the German club.
Eden Hazard has been regularly linked with a move to La Liga giants Real Madrid over the past few seasons and the speculation has only intensified this season.
With the Belgian’s current deal at Chelsea FC running down and the Blues struggling in the race to finish in the top four, Hazard will have a big decision to make about his future in the summer.
Former Blues defender Gallas has already pinpointed the perfect signing to bolster Sarri’s attack.
“Antoine Griezmann is one of the top five strikers in the world,” Gallas told LeoVegas.
“With his quality, I’m sure he can damage a lot of defenders. I would love to see Antoine Griezmann in the Premier League.
“He’s a very patient, diligent player who scores goals consistently. He would be perfect for Chelsea.”
Griezmann has scored 128 goals in 239 games in all competitions during five seasons at Atletico.
