Chelsea FC want 32-year-old to replace Eden Hazard – report
Chelsea FC want Edinson Cavani to replace Eden Hazard if their prized asset moves in the summer, according to a report in France
Chelsea FC will look to sign Edinson Cavani if Eden Hazard moves to Real Madrid in the summer, according to a report in France.
French media outlet Le 10 Sport, as quoted by the Daily Star, is reporting that Chelsea FC have identified Cavani as a potential target to replace Hazard.
The Belgium international has been persistently linked with a move to the Champions League holders since Maurizio Sarri’s appointment last summer.
The same article states that the Paris Saint-Germain forward has been a long-term target for the west London outfit.
According to the same story, the Chelsea FC board might take some convincing that the Uruguay international is the right signing to take over the reins from Hazard given Cavani turned 32 earlier this month.
The Daily Star suggests that the Blues could look to sign Cavani given his ability to have an immediate impact as the League Cup finalists look to fight a transfer ban.
The west London club were handed a suspension from signing players in the next two transfer windows, although the Blues can delay the ban if they submit an appeal.
Cavani has scored 17 goals in 16 games in Ligue 1 this season to continue his prolific form at the French club.
The South American moved to PSG from Sarri’s former club Napoli in 2013.
