Chelsea FC could be set to lose as many as eight first-team players this summer, say reports
Chelsea FC could lose as many as eight players in the summer transfer window, according to reports in the British media.
The Daily Express is reporting that the west London side could be set to wave goodbye to as many as eight first-team players this summer in what would be a major overhaul of the club’s squad.
The same story says that Gary Cahill, Olivier Giroud, Willy Caballero, Rob Green and David Luiz are all out of contract this summer and could leave.
On top of that, Mateo Kovacic is set to return to Real Madrid after his loan spell, and the Spanish giants are hoping to be successful in their pursuit of Eden Hazard this summer.
The same article says that Callum Hudson-Odoi could still look to complete his move to Bayern Munich after having been heavily linked with a switch in January.
To make matters worse, the same article says that Chelsea FC could be set to be handed a Fifa transfer embargo lasting at least two windows for breaking rules over the signing of foreign minors.
Meanwhile, Chelsea FC are currently preparing to take on Malmo in Sweden in the first leg of their Europa League last 32 clash on Thursday night.
The Blues will then host Manchester United in the FA Cup fifth round on Monday night.
