Chelsea FC to rival Man United for Mauricio Pochettino appointment – report
Chelsea FC are interested in appointing Mauricio Pochettino as their new manager despite Man United interest, according to a report
Chelsea FC are prepared to go to battle with Manchester United and Real Madrid to appoint Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino as their next manager, according to a report in England.
The Sunday Express is reporting that current Chelsea FC manager Maurizio Sarri has already been informed by the club’s owner Roman Abramovich that he will be sacked should the Blues miss out on a top-four finish.
The same article states Chelsea FC have already started their search for a new manager to prepare for the eventuality that Sarri is unable to secure Champions League football at Stamford Bridge next season.
According to the same story, Pochettino is an obvious choice for the Chelsea FC board given the Blues were interested in the former Argentina international in the summer before the west London side opted for Sarri.
The Sunday Express exclusive goes on to say that Chelsea FC could have to pay a staggering £50m in compensation to land the Spurs manager.
Manchester United remain in the race to appoint Pochettino, although Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s impressive start has given the Old Trafford side something to think about, the article adds.
Chelsea FC were 5-0 winners against Huddersfield Town on Saturday afternoon to hoist themselves back into the top four.
