Chelsea FC are one of a number of clubs keeping an eye on Philippe Coutinho’s situation at FC Barcelona ahead of the summer transfer window, according to a report in England.
The Independent is reporting that the Blues are interested in the Brazil international given the uncertainty surrounding Eden Hazard’s future at the west London side.
The same article states that the Belgium international is looking more likely to complete a much-anticipated move to Champions League holders Real Madrid.
According to the same story, FC Barcelona are prepared for a number of Premier League clubs to try and tempt the Catalan side into selling the South American playmaker this summer.
While the Independent makes it clear that Liverpool FC aren’t interested in re-signing Coutinho, the British media outlet list Chelsea FC as one of the clubs monitoring the former Inter Milan star.
Coutinho moved to FC Barcelona from Liverpool FC in a £105m deal in the 2018 January transfer window, with the fee set to rise to £142m in add-ons.
However, the 26-year-old has struggled to hit the ground running since his move to FC Barcelona little over 12 months ago.
The talented Brazilian playmaker has only scored four goals and made two assists in 13 starts and four substitute appearances in La Liga this term.
Chelsea FC signed Christian Pulisic in January before loaning the United States international back to Borussia Dortmund for the remainder of the season.
