Chelsea FC draw up two-man shortlist to replace Maurizio Sarri – report
Chelsea FC are interested in Zinedine Zidane and Frank Lampard as replacements for Maurizio Sarri, according to a report
Chelsea FC have put together a two-man shortlist to replace Maurizio Sarri, according to a report in England.
Sky Sports is reporting that the Blues are interested in former Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane and Derby County manager Frank Lampard.
The same article states that Chelsea FC are concerned about the west London side’s performances following recent losses to Arsenal, Manchester City and Manchester United.
The Blues lost 6-0 to the defending Premier League champions at The Etihad earlier this month before Manchester United were 2-0 winners at Stamford Bridge in the FA Cup fifth round earlier this week.
According to the same story, Chelsea FC are considering promoting Gianfranco Zola to caretaker manager for the remainder of the season before appointing either Zidane or Lampard in the summer.
Sarri’s men are in sixth spot and a point behind Manchester United, who have won their last eight of their last nine Premier League games.
The Italian manager admitted their loss to Arsenal last month that he is struggling to motivate his players after a difficult run of results.
Sarri took over the reins from Antonio Conte in the summer after the Blues finished in fifth place in the Premier League table.
Chelsea FC won the Premier League title and the FA Cup under Conte but their inconsistent performances in the 2017-18 season cost Conte his job.
