Chelsea FC have identified Zinedine Zidane as their number one candidate to replace Maurizio Sarri in the summer, according to a report in England.

The Sun, as quoted by Metro, is reporting that the Blues are eager to appoint the former Real Madrid manager as Sarri’s replacement in the summer.

The same article states that Chelsea FC hope Zidane’s appointment would force Eden Hazard to reconsider his future at the west London side.

According to the same story, Sarri is quickly losing the support of the Chelsea FC board following a disappointing run of results at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea FC lost 6-0 to defending Premier League champions Manchester City at The Etihad last weekend to drop out of the top four.

The Blues have conceded 10 times in their last two Premier League games on the road.

However, Sarri could still win his first trophy later this month when Chelsea FC take on Manchester City in the Carabao Cup final.

The west London outfit are going strong in the Europa League and the FA Cup under Sarri despite their inconsistent Premier League form.

Hazard has less than 18 months left to run on his current deal at Stamford Bridge amid talk of interest from La Liga giants Real Madrid.

The Belgian forward has made no secret of his admiration for former Real Madrid manager Zidane.
