Sky Sports pundit reveals prediction for Crystal Palace v Man United
Paul Merson looks ahead to Man United's clash with Crystal Palace on Sunday
Paul Merson is tipping Crystal Palace to claim a 2-1 win over Manchester United in the Premier League at Selhurst Park on Wednesday night.
The Red Devils head into the game on the back of their goalless draw with Liverpool FC in the top flight at Old Trafford on Sunday afternoon.
Manchester United have dropped down into fifth place in the Premier League table after Sunday’s draw, as Arsenal moved a point ahead of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men thanks to their 2-0 win over Southampton.
Solskjaer’s side suffered numerous injuries during Sunday’s game, including setbacks for the likes of Ander Herrera and Jesse Lingard.
And former Arsenal star Merson seems to think that the injury setbacks could lead to Manchester United suffering their first Premier League defeat under Solskjaer this week.
Writing in his column for Sky Sports, Merson said: “United have got a lot of injures, Palace had a great result at Leicester… I’m going for Palace in this one!
“All of a sudden, I think United will be four points behind the top four.
“I want to go for United, but they’ve got too many injuries to too many key players. They’ve come at the wrong time for United.”
Manchester United will be looking to at least finish in the top four this season after they ended up in second place under Jose Mourinho last term.
The Red Devils will take on Paris Saint-Germain in the return leg of their Champions League last 16 clash next week as they look to try and overturn a 2-0 deficit.
