Paul Merson is backing Manchester United to continue their top-four push with a 3-1 victory over Fulham at Craven Cottage on Saturday lunchtime.

The Red Devils are back in the race for Champions League qualification after a superb run of form following the appointment of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as the club’s new manager in December.

Manchester United currently find themselves in fifth place in the Premier League table and just two points behind fourth-placed Chelsea FC heading into this weekend’s round of fixtures.

They have only dropped points in one Premier League game since Solskjaer was brought in as Jose Mourinho’s replacement on an interim basis late last year.

And former Arsenal star Merson feels that the Red Devils are on course to move back into the top four with victory over the Cottagers in London on Saturday lunchtime.

Speaking to Sky Sports, the former Arsenal star said: “I can’t see anything other than a United win, they will have too much for Fulham.

“I think Fulham will score, but it is at the back that they look all over the place. There will be goals in the game, but it will be another three points for United.”

Manchester United will take on Paris Saint-Germain in the last 16 of the Champions League later this month.

The Red Devils ended up in second place in the Premier League table and without a trophy last season under Mourinho.
