Paul Merson reveals his prediction for Huddersfield v Arsenal
Paul Merson looks ahead to Arsenal's clash with Huddersfield in the Premier League on Saturday
Paul Merson is tipping Arsenal to keep their top-four hopes alive with a 2-0 victory at Huddersfield Town on Saturday afternoon.
The north London side are aiming to break back into the top four this season under new boss Unai Emery after the Gunners missed out on Champions League qualification in the last two seasons running under Arsene Wenger.
Arsenal currently find themselves in sixth place in the Premier League table and one point behind Manchester United in fifth after they were beaten by Manchester City at The Etihad last weekend.
The Gunners have lost two and won three of their last five Premier League games and they will be looking to get their top-four push back on track with victory over Huddersfield on Saturday.
And former Arsenal midfielder Merson is backing the north London side to claim all three points with a victory away from home on Saturday.
Speaking to Sky Sports, Merson said: “I’m going to go for Arsenal, but I would not be shocked if they did not win because defensively, Arsenal are just not good enough.
“And sooner or later, something has got to happen at Huddersfield, they have to have an all out go now, it is pointless coming away from this game with a draw. Before the game, a draw would be a good result…
“But actually, it would not be. They now need to win football matches, so they may as well go out and have a go. You may as well go out and if they get beat five…”
Arsenal will take on BATE Borisov in the last 32 of the Europa League next Thursday night.
They will not be in Premier League action again until Sunday 24 February, when they host Southampton at The Emirates in the top flight.
