Alan Shearer heaped praise on Trent Alexander-Arnold after the defender registered a hat-trick of assists in Liverpool FC’s 5-0 win over Watford on Wednesday night.
Liverpool FC were looking to make amends for a poor performance at Old Trafford on Sunday when Manchester United held the league leaders to a stalemate.
The Reds failed to test David De Gea from open play but Liverpool FC were ahead after nine minutes at Anfield in their mid-week fixture.
Sadio Mane produced a deft finish in the ninth minute to break the deadlock from Alexander-Anrold’s cross to calm any nerves amongst the home supporters on Merseyside.
The Senegal international was poor against Manchester United but Mane made amends with his second goal of the night in the 20th minute.
Mane managed to get on the end of another Alexander-Arnold cross to put the home side in a commanding position with 70 minutes left to play.
Divock Origi started up front in the absence of Roberto Firmino and the Belgian forward got on the score sheet before Virgil van Dijk made it 4-0 after yet another pass from Alexander-Arnold.
His team-mate Andy Robertson made Van Dijk’s second goal on a night when Jurgen Klopp’s full-backs impressed.
Former Newcastle striker Shearer hailed Alexander-Arnold’s performance in Liverpool FC’s 5-0 win.

Liverpool FC are in top spot and a point ahead of second-placed Manchester City in what is proving to be an enthralling title race between the two teams.
Manchester City will take on Bournemouth in the Premier League on Saturday at the Vitality Stadium.
The Reds will make the trip to their local rivals Everton in the Premier League on Sunday.
