Jurgen Klopp admits Liverpool FC are embroiled in a tough title race after Monday night’s 1-1 draw at West Ham.

The Merseyside outfit have failed to win their last two Premier League games to leave Liverpool FC with a small lead at the top of the table.

Klopp’s side started the calendar year with a seven-point lead at over the Citizens but the Reds are a mere three points ahead of the defending champions.

Liverpool FC failed to capitalise on Manchester City’s loss at Newcastle last week and the Citizens bounced back with a 3-1 win against Arsenal on Sunday.

The 18-time English champions were held to a 1-1 draw with Leicester in their mid-week clash and Liverpool FC finished with the same result at West Ham.

Manchester City could hoist themselves to the top of the table if the Citizens beat Everton at The Etihad on Wednesday night.

Liverpool FC will be able to restore their lead at the top should they beat Bournemouth on Saturday before Manchester City welcome Chelsea FC on Sunday.

Speaking at his post-match media conference about Liverpool FC’s lead at the top of the table, Klopp said:

“That’s clear, it’s not a surprise. For all of us, if you want to win big things then you have to be ready for these tight races. That’s how it is.”

Liverpool FC haven’t won the Premier League title but have finished in second place in 2002, 2009 and 2014.

The Reds will be hoping to return to winning ways against Bournemouth on Saturday.
