Eric Cantona predicts where Liverpool FC and Man United will finish
Eric Cantona has his say about Liverpool FC and Man United's hopes in the Premier League this season
Eric Cantona is tipping Manchester City to win the Premier League ahead of Liverpool FC and for Manchester United to finish fourth this season.
Liverpool FC have been in fine form this term and they are currently second in the table and level on points with leaders Manchester City with a game in hand.
Manchester United, meanwhile, have been earning lots of praise for their impressive turnaround in form under interim boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
The Red Devils are unbeaten in the Premier League heading into Sunday’s showdown with rivals Liverpool FC at Old Trafford in the Premier League.
And Manchester United legend Cantona is expecting to see Manchester City retain their title this season.
Asked to predict the top four, Cantona told Paddy Power: “City, Liverpool, Tottenham, United.”
The Manchester United legend then went on to discuss Liverpool FC’s impressive form along with Manchester City this season.
He continued: “It hurts a lot. But they [City and Liverpool FC] play wonderful football. But now, if United had started the season 10 games ago, they would be top of the league.
“City and Liverpool play nice attacking football, now and score plenty of goals, which is like Man United. They have the philosophy we did – enjoyment.
“Of course, if they (United) keep playing like this, they still have a chance, no? (Of winning the league)
“I remember during my time, we were 12 points behind Newcastle and we won the league – so we have to hope and dream.”
Manchester United – who beat Chelsea FC 2-0 in the FA Cup fifth round last week – finished in second place in the Premier League table last season under Jose Mourinho.
Liverpool FC are still looking to win their first major trophy since Jurgen Klopp’s appointment back in 2015.
