Paul Merson is tipping Liverpool FC to bounce back to winning ways in the Premier League with a 2-1 win over Watford on Wednesday night.

The Reds are preparing to welcome the Hornets to Anfield this week as they look to respond following their frustrating goalless draw with Manchester United at Old Trafford on Sunday.

That result moved Liverpool FC one point clear at the top of the Premier League table as they look to try and keep their place at the summit as the season approaches its climax.

Liverpool FC fans will now be hoping to see their team string together some positive results in a key part of the season for Jurgen Klopp’s men.

And Merson is tipping the Reds to claim all three points when they host Watford at Anfield this week.

Writing in his column for Sky Sports, Merson said: “Watford are 12/1 to win this football match, which is ridiculous. Ridiculous.

“This is a dangerous game for Liverpool; the pressure is on, and they have to win. Watford have just come off a 5-1 win, Liverpool have just come out of a hard week and Roberto Firmino is injured.

“I’m tipping Liverpool to win it, just, but I would not be shocked one iota if Watford got something from this game. I can’t explain what an unbelievable banana skin this is.

“If Watford had been beaten by Cardiff, this would be a walk in the park for Liverpool, but all of a sudden Watford are turning up there and thinking they’ve got nothing to lose. They’ll have a go.”

Liverpool FC are still searching for their first major trophy under Klopp since his appointment at Anfield back in October 2015.

The Reds reached the Champions League final last season but ended up losing to Real Madrid in the showpiece back in May 2018.
